This is a fine ascent that takes you up to the border ridge between Italy and France, with views of the peaks and glaciers of the neighbouring Ecrins.
From the Guido Rey refuge (1761m) follow path 702 towards Colle dell'Orso and the Blanchetti bivouac. At the end of the wood, the path turns left towards the Rocher de La Garde (2222m). From here, follow the path which, with several hairpin bends and some exposed crossings, leads to the magnificent Col de l'Ours and the Blanchetti bivouac (2480m). From the bivouac, follow the red marks and stone cairns close to the ridge to the summit cross (from here you can continue to follow the tracks to the Aiguille d'Arbour). The descent is along the same path as the ascent.
