The Scarfiotti-Crosetto refuge (Italian Alpine Club Turin) is set in the middle of the striking Granges du Fond plateau, surrounded by small lakes and stunning waterfalls. Easy to reach by road from Bardonecchia (about 40 minutes), this is the ideal place for anyone who loves the mountains, whether you're a mountaineer or just hiking. It is also a superb place for alpine flora and fauna enthusiasts, as well as mountain bikers.
The refuge offers simple, authentic cuisine, mainly traditional Piedmont and Italian recipes, prepared using the finest local produce.
Our comfortable dormitory is on the first floor and has 24 beds and hot showers. Meals are served in the spacious dining room or on our stunning terrace area.

Access
By road:
From Bardonecchia, follow the tarmac road towards the hamlet of Rochemolles. On leaving the village, continue along the dirt track for around 8 km. From the refuge, you can take the dirt track up to Col du Sommelier (3,000 m), where the remains of the famous glacier are a breathtaking sight in any season. The trails leading up to the pass offer stunning panoramas punctuated by peaks, plateaux and high plateaux. Considered to be the highest road for vehicles in Europe, it is also used by day-trippers on motorbikes and 4x4s.
On foot/by mountain bike:
There are several paths leading from the hamlet of Rochemolles to the refuge. From Bardonecchia, the old "Decauville" railway line also offers an interesting alternative. A shuttle bus service runs between the Bardonecchia railway station and Rochemolles.
