La Chardousë

"La Chardousë is located in the Oulx commune of Val de Suse, in the hamlet of Vazon at 1,700 m.
Constructed by Claudio and Valentina between 2004 and 2007, this traditional mountain refuge offers its guests a warm welcome.
Spanning over three floors, the refuge has a lounge and reading room on the ground floor, bedrooms on the upper floor and a large outdoor area."
With easy access for children and adults, the refuge is open all year round and offers routes for all abilities, from beginners to more experienced mountain hikers.
Traditional dishes are served in our stone-walled dining area or on our terrace with stunning views.
Le Chardousë, the local dialect name for the Carlina. This flower is said to have been hung on the doors or facades of houses in the mountains as an amulet against the evil forces of the night and a good omen.
In summer, the refuge can be reached by car. In winter, the road is closed to traffic, but the paths are all passable.
