Refuge Guido Rey

Refuge Guido Rey (1,761 m) was built as a military building in 1938. Since the 1950s it has been the property of the CAI (Club Alpin Italien), which began to use it as a refuge. The building was named Guido Rey in memory of the eponymous mountaineer, writer and photographer, dubbed "The Poet of the Mountains".
The refuge is located in the commune of Oulx.
It is a 45-minute walk from the village of Château Beaulard or around 1hr 30 mins from Beaulard. Surrounded by woodland and sheltered by the Massif de la Grand'Hoche, this is an ideal destination for hikers of all ages. In winter, you can enjoy a wide choice of snowshoeing and off-piste ski routes of varying difficulty.
Today the refuge belongs to the CAI Uget de Turin and is run by Andrea & Pierre accompanied by their friends and families. There's a real family atmosphere here where all hikers can relax and feel right at home!
Refuge Guido Rey can accommodate up to 20 guests in rooms sleeping 2 or 3 people, and, for bigger groups, there is has a large dining room (with seating for 15-20).
