Col de Vallée Etroite (2,434 m)

From Granges de la Vallée Etroite (1,760 m), head up the valley as far as Pont de la Fonderie (1,897 m). Cross the bridge and head north up Vallon de Tavernette. Walk past the rain gauge and continue along some pretty grassy flat sections. You'll come to a first sharp incline that you'll have to climb steeply to reach the exit on the right. The bottom of Vallon de Tavernette is then a gentle, pleasant slope. After a short descent and a wet plateau, cross the stream and climb up a very gullied slope that leads to mountain pastures. A few gentle dips, a traverse to the left and you arrive at Col de Vallée Etroite (2,434 m). To reach Refuge du Mont Thabor (2,501 m), cross to the left (heading W-N-W). After some scree and a final slope, you'll reach the refuge.
